My day started bright and early with a nice trip to the gym. I ellipticaled for 45 minutes while reading the second Hunger Games book and intended on running for another 45 minutes after that. But Hunger Games was too good to stop reading!!! I kept telling myself, "Ok, I'll stop after this chapter and run." But that definitely did not happen. Instead, I ellipticaled for another 45 minutes so I could keep reading. Oh the things I do for the Games. :) After my gym sesh, I hurried home because I knew the fam had exciting plans...delivering Christmas cookies!!! Every year on Christmas Eve, my church hands out cookies to people who have to work that day. It's a huge deal, and people bake cookies for the deliveries in mass quantities. We donated a bunch of the ones we baked to be delivered. We were assigned four stores (three different Weigel's and a Ken Joe Market) so we dressed in our most festive outfits and jumped in the car!
And look who joined us!!!
Droopy antlers
At least my pants were festive!
After a hard day of delivering cookies, we went to a Japanese restaurant called Wok Hay for lunch. It reminded me a lot of P.F. Chang's or Pei Wei, which I love. I got the tofu lettuce wraps. They were delicious!! Tofu never gets old, though! I once again enjoyed chatting and joking with the fam and the boyfran. Gotta love quality family time! Toddles had to work today, unfortunately, so we skedaddled outta the restaurant and went home.
I spent the next few hours organizing my Itunes library and then it was time for the candlelight service at our church. I don't think I can express how much I love the candlelight Christmas Eve service. Each year it is phenomenal and the music is crazy good. This year definitely did not disappoint--blew me away! We headed home to warm up after the service, and then mi madre decided we should do our annual Christmas Eve gift exchange. On Christmas Eve my sisters and I all exchange the presents we bought for each other and my mom lets us open one present. Since my older sister is in Chicago this Christmas, just my younger sister Nikki and I exchanged gifts. Here's what she got me...
You can't really tell by the picture, but the watch has a braided band with different colors on it. Very versatile :) And, of course, gotta love my anchor necklace!!! It's so adorable. I may or may not be wearing both of these items right now. Oh, I almost forgot. There was one more present...from my mom.
Merry Christmas!!!
