Adventure Time

Ok, so I wrote this post on Thursday the 5th before I left for the snowboarding trip, but it didn't post--so I'm just posting it now. Sorry! Hey girl hey! <<<Does anyone remember this? I'm pretty sure it was from the show A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila. And yet it stuck...MTV makes such a lasting impression :) Hope everyone's day is starting off on the right foot! My day has been full of anxiousness and excitement as I await our annual snowboarding trip! I used to be a Girl Scout (I'm so cool, I know) and from around sixth grade on, we would take a trip to go skiing each year in January or February. We would get good discounts for being a group, so it was a win-win. We tried out several different slopes mountains ski places (is this what they're called??) during our skiing adventures--Cataloochee in North Carolina, Sugar Mountain in North Carolina, and another place I can't remember. But this year we're going somewhere new! It's called Winterplace and it's in West Virginia!

I only learned to snowboard last year, and most of that trip was spent on my butt, so I'm trying again this year! Hopefully I won't be using my booty to go down the slope will remember how to snowboard from last year and be a pro this year!

Our annual Girl Scout ski/snowboard trips are always very much looked forward to and include lots of snacks, laughter, and bonding. *Side note: My Girl Scout troop consisted of my best friends, so you can imagine how much of a blast these trips were* This year, however, we're going with my best friend's brother's Boy Scout troop. My best friend's mom (and former troop leader) asked if any of us former Girl Scouts wanted to go. Sadly, only four of us are able to go. But that doesn't mean it's not gonna be a PARTAY! In the past, our trips have included...

Hard core outfits

Fun dinners on the way home

Fuzzy earwarmers
Lots of snacking
And plenty of other shenanigans :)

As you can tell from the above evidence, I am realllly looking forward to this trip. Plus, I get to spend four hours in the car with my bestest friends. And what a car ride it will be! I've already got some goodies for the ride...
Mmmmm

I made these little treats using the only baked good mix we had in our pantry:

But I definitely wasn't feelin' cookies, so I decided something a little more vamped up was in order. I fancified this mix with some hot fudge sauce I found lurking in the fridge and some caramel sauce. Then I put the beauties in a 9x9 pan and baked them at 350 degrees for about 35 minutes. The end result? I couldn't really tell ya, considering they're not done yet :) But! I have high expectations for these little boogers.

Besides packing and baking, the rest of today consisted of a quick gym sesh (30 minutes elliptical, 4 mile run, arms/ab work), buying some of my books online for this semester, and.....

More knitting!! This time I'm making a headband/earwarmer thing. I'm making it up as I go, so we'll see how it turns out!! Welp, it's almost time for the snowboarding adventure to begin! Don't worry, I'll take lots of pictures :) Adios amigos!
