We Are Family

Hello, lovelies!! Wow, this weekend sure has flown by. How was your weekend? I hope it was peachy keen :) My weekend was fantastically fun, but went by wayyyy too fast. On Saturday morning, I posted the blog I had written on Thursday before I left for snowboarding because my internet decided it hated me was being screwy. However, I forgot to add to that post and say I was headed to Winchester to visit my padre's side of the family! We always go to middle Tennessee to visit them at Christmas time, and the trip is always wild, loud, and crazy fun. Obviously, I was beyond excited to go this year. How 'bout a recap?
I didn't get back from snowboarding until 10:30pm on Friday night, and the only thing on my mind was sleep. So I hurriedly packed a few things for Winchester and tucked myself under the covers. I went to bed with the intention of waking up at 6:45am for a quick gym sesh before the 2 1/2 hour car ride, but feeling the soreness in my entire body when my alarm went off quickly shot that idea down. Sleeping for a few more hours seemed much more appealing :)

When I woke up again at 9am, I showered, got ready, finished packing, and we jumped in the car for the 2 1/2 hour drive. Oh! And we had a little visitor!

Guess who???
The boyfran came!!! This was his first time meeting any of my extended family, so I was pretty excited. He was freaking out excited, too!! But, seeing as how we've been dating for two years and two months, it was about time for him to tag along. Before we got on the interstate, we had to make a trip to the Pilot truck station to pick up gifts for our Dirty Santa gift exchange. The theme of the gift swap was "things you would get from a truck stop." This is why I love my family :) We spent awhile searching for the perfect gifts, but finally we purchased our trashy items and were on our merry way. Toddles pretty much slept the whole way, but I was busy knitting that impecable headband you see in the above photo. I'm pretty much a pro knitter now, in case you were wondering.

We got to Winchester around 1:00 and went straight to the hotel to put up our luggage. After talking to my aunt, we found out we didn't have to be at her house until 2:30. Pinterest easily occupied my time until then. At 2:30, we headed to my aunt's house for the evening's festivities. And what crazy festivities they were!

We began pretty calmly by chatting, catching up, snacking, and going to see the house my cousin's new house-in-progress. When we were done seeing the house and got back to the party house, everyone had arrived and the real fun began. Dirty Santa was a blast and proved to me there really is no limit of creativity in my family. The truck stop gifts ranged from a gingerbread cookie jar to a singing Justin Beiber tooth brush. It was great. I ended up with a fabulous candle warmer after stealing it from my madre. And you bet I stole that sucker! We play dirty in this family!

We snacked more, chatted more, and then began the infamous game of Bunco. It's basically a dice game where you try to roll three of the same number to get the most points. And, of course, prized are involved! We play Bunco every single year and I am not lying when I say it is the highlight of the Christmas season. I seriously look forward to it all year! Bunco was insanely fun and loud--as always--and Toddly and I made it out of there with some pretty great prizes.

BAHAHAHA
I am modeling some fantastic leopard print lingerie, and the boyfran is sporting a Pimpin' cup. Here's a closer look at that little gem...

It is pretty much the best cup ever!  We joked that it was the boyfran's souvenier for surviving the trip, haha! I have a feeling this will be a hot item with his fraternity brothers. And here's a close up of my classy prize....

Yeah, no idea what I'm gonna do with that yet. No worries, I'll think of something great :) This morning, we went to a cute little breakfast place with my aunt, uncle, two cousins, and one of my cousin's husband. We had more fun chatting and laughing. I had a giant bowl of oatmeal, but forgot to take a picture. Eeeek, sorry! Just know that it was amazingly delicious and filling. I wasn't even hungry again until 7pm!

We headed back home a little after 10 and were home by 2. Then Toddathan and I hit up Wally World for some last minute school supplies. Classes start Wednesday. Yeah...we're just not gonna talk about that right now. Anywho, I got some notebooks, pens, highlighters, and other randomness and then we hung out for a little longer before the boyfran had to leave for work. Once I got home, I got my butt to work on packing everything to move back into my dorm tomorrow. Packing is probably my most hated activity. EVER. This has been a serious struggle for me. I have been procrastinating by Pinteresting, Facebooking, and blog stalking. I took a well-deserved break for din din.

OHMIWORD NOMMMMM
Ok, I bought this soup on a whim at Wally World today and let me tell you. THIS STUFF IS INCREDIBLE! I wasn't expecting too much, to be honest. I'm not a fan of broccoli cheese soup at all, so I was a little worried this  "Garden Broccoli" soup might be too much like it. It blew me away. It was so creamy and smooth. And only 180 caloried for the whole box! That's quality food people! I swirled some paprika and red pepper flakes in for a little spice. Delish.

I continued with my packing adventure after this. I have made a tiny bit of progress so far. This is what I have packed:
A few bags
And this is what I still have left to conquer:

Intimidating...
The clothes. And this is only the outside view! Here's a peek inside the closet.

And that goes about a foot and a half the other direction, too. I am aware I have a lot of clothes. Some might even say too many clothes. They were definitely the worst to pack when I left the dorm. I'm sort of dreading packing them, actually. At least I live close to school, so I can make two trips if I need to!

I should probably get back to packing now. Ehhh, I'm going to need some hot tea to power me through this! I'm planning on moving the majority of my stuff back tomorrow, saying goodbye to my best friend (she starts back the 16th), and picking my friend from California up from the airport to take back to school. Busy busy day indeed! Crap, I just realized I forgot to post a recap about snowboarding. Hopefully I'll have time tomorrow! Well, ciao for now chicas and chicos. I got some packin' to do!
