The adventure began on Thursday around 4pm when we all met at a church before departing. We gaggled around for a bit while

I was obviously way too excited to be eating, but what else is new? I also managed to spill mustard on my brand new Goodwill button down that I got for 50 cents!

Eww. Dang mustard! Pretty sure that's gonna be a stain. Ohz well! And, of course, many more shenanigans were had...
It was a great car ride, trust me :) We finally arrived at our cabin/lodge/dining hall around 10:30pm. I was exhausted and just wanted to go to bed. But, alas, the prepubescent-boy-flirting began. We were on the trip with my best friend's little brother's boy scout troop, so there was an abundance of teenage boys ranging from 12 to 16. Apparently the whole "cougar" thing is appealing to younger boys, as they would not leave us alone. One in particular seemed attached to us at the hip. Let's call him Timothy. So Little Timothy decided it was his personal job to join into every conversation we had, assist us in unrolling our sleeping bags, and commenting on everything we did/said. Yes, this was a bit endearing at first, but it got real old real fast!
Thankfully, it was finally "lights out" time, so naturally us Rebel Girl Scouts stayed up until the wee hours of the morning gossiping. Ok, that's a lie. We all
I am 100% convinced that these were inflatable pool rafts. They tried to tell us they were air mattresses, but I think I figured out the truth behind their thrifty ways. We woke up at the butt crack of dawn bright and early and ate a grease-filled decent breakfast before heading to the main lodge to pick up our equipment. The lodge we stayed in was right outside a few of the slopes, but the main lodge was just a quick drive away. Here's the view from where we stayed:
It was so pretty before the sun was up! And, thankfully, it wasn't that cold! I always get wimpy when it's cold snowboarding and end up going back inside the warm lodge. But this was perfect weather! We trekked over to the main lodge and waited in lines to get our snowboards, boots, and other equipment. It took awhile to get everything together, but finally we were ready to hit the slopes!

Casey and I had snowboarded once before (last year) but we decided we should probably take the snowboarding lessons again so that it would be fresh on our minds. Jean and Kellie were first time snowboarders and were required to take the lesson, so we definitely decided to tag along. The lesson went well--we learned a lot more than we did last year! And our instructor was so helpful. She watched you snowboard and told you what you could do to make snowboarding easier. I loved that! We made it down the bunny slope with our instructor one time and then she said we were on our own.
Casey and I picked it back up pretty quickly, but Jean and Kellie took a little more practice. They eventually got the hang of it, though! After much time spent on our butts a few more trips down the mountain, we decided a break was needed. We grabbed a quick lunch at the main lodge (veggie burger for me) and went back out on the slopes! We had a blast snowboarding, attempting to get on the ski lifts, running into each other, and constantly busting our tushies. Around 3:00, Jean, Kellie, and I decided we needed a permanent break for the day. Our bodies were already sore and we were exhausted. Casey went down a few more slopes with her sister before coming to join us. The rest of our time at the mountain was spent gabbing, gossiping, and gawking at people (sorry about that last one...I just needed another g word!) At 5:00, we were ready to leave and happily packed up to head back home.
The ride back was very much different from the ride to the mountain. We all pretty much slept the entire way. I think Despicable Me was watched somewhere in there, but I was snoozin' away. We stopped a few times for bathroom breaks and to eat (Chick-fil-a). It was a loooong ride back (especially considering since my butt was already sore), but we made it! My padre picked me up from the church, and I headed home to pack for Winchester. What a trip it was! I loved seeing my girlies again before we all headed back to school. And of course it was great to relive our Girl Scout pasts :) Well, there you have it folks. A monster of a recap! I'm worn out now! So I'll just leave you with a farewell and a picture.
Adios amigos!
