College Round 2

Hey there! Wow, it has been a reallly long time since I've blogged. Sorry 'bout that!! It has been a CRAZZZY couple of days. On Monday , I moved back into my dorm at college. On Tuesday, I bought all my books and school supplies and readied myself for my classes the next day. On Wednesday, classes started! On Thursday, I bit the bullet and actually made myself accept the fact that I had homework already and I did said homework. And that brings up to today--FRIDAY! Where has the week gone?? But don't worry...I'll break the above speedy recap down (into a megapost) and share the dirty deets.

Alright....this should be fun trying to remember everything that happened since Monday. I tend to have amnesia.

MONDAY
I decided Monday should begin like every other day of my winter break had--sleep in, gym, shower, lunch. I don't really remember what I did at the gym that day...probably something on the elliptical and then something on the treadmill and then something involving weights. I know, I'm so descriptive. Oh! I do remember what I had for lunch, though! But only because it was fan-freakin'-tastic! I wasn't really feeling like putting much effort into making food, so I turned to the freezer for an answer. And I found this amazing Amy's frozen meal!
Tofu Scramble
OHMIWORD. I cannot even begin to tell you how incredibly tasty this was. I honestly wasn't really expecting much from a frozen meal, but I have had good experiences with Amy's products in the past. And this one surely did not disappoint. The tofu scramble was so tasty and flavorful and the hash potatoes actually held up their potatoeyness perfectly!! Oh, and it looked exactly like the picture on the box. Yummmm, I'm hungry just thinking about it again!

After I ate, I finished packing the rest of my clothes and mi madre and I headed to campus! I needed her to help drive some of my luggage...I had a grand total of two huge suitcases full of clothes, two duffel bags of clothes, about eight tote bags full of things, my backpack, and my pillow pet. It was a bit of heavy load, to say the least. Luckily the wonderful, miraculous boyfran was waiting at campus to help me bring everything to my dorm! It took me about three hours to unpack everything....ehhhh. But I least I got it done before dinner!

My roomie, Kellie, and I had plans to have dinner with my bestie that night. We went to a Mongolian place called Genghi's Grill where you pick protein, veggies, sauce, and a starch and they cook it for you. We had a great time munching away and talking about how much we would miss each other. The bestie goes back to school on the 16th, so she still has some time at home.

After dinner, Kellie and I went straight to the airport to pick up our friend Victoria from California. I was soooo excited to see her again! I had missed her so much over break, and the ride back to school was full of laughter and catching up. The rest of Monday night was spent organizing the room, getting school stuff together, and watching Superbad. Perfect first night back to school :)

TUESDAY
On Tuesday, I took advantage of my last day of sleeping in before classes started and slept til about 9:30 or so. I lethargically got out of bed and checked my email, only to find a ton of emails from my professors! After a minor freak out, I realized most of the messages were just saying what we needed for the first day of class or what book we needed. I calmed down, printed all the syllabi (is that really the plural of syllabus??), and got bust writing all test dates down in my planner. Feeling pretty accomplished, the roomie and I headed to lunch with our friends Victoria and Jessie. We were determined to find a certain restaurant on campus, and walked at least a mile and a half trying to find it. At least we got a good workout in!

After lunch, it was time to get down to biznass and get serious for school. The roomie, Victoria, and I took a trip to the bookstore to pick up books we had reserved. It was pretty cold outside, and we decided a trip to Starbucks was a must. We also needed warmth because we were about to go watch a parade! Extreme Makeover: Home Edition is doing an episode in my town, and were filming a segment on Tuesday. The episode won't be aired until around Thanksgiving, so there was a parade with a bunch of floats, like in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. It was pretty funny to see a turkey and a cornucopia in January.

We stood around waiting for the parade to begin for a loooong time, so pretty soon after these floats passed we decided to call it quits and leave. Not before snapping a picture in front of the Extreme Makeover bus, though!
Famous bus!!
And taking one of this really creepy mascot thing:

Is it a frog??
Once we couldn't feel our fingers anymore had enough parade fun, the roomie, the boyfran, and I went to find the buildings are classes were in. We walked all over campus it seemed, in the rapidly dropping temperature. When we got back to the dorm, I was more than ready to sit down and take a breather. But I had exciting dinner plans....I finally got to be reunited with all my beautiful Delta Gamma sisters!!! We all went to a place near campus called Noodles and Company. It was very yummy, and I loved talking to all my girlies again. I had missed them wayyyy too much! And I can't wait for another fantastic semester with them!

The fun didn't end with dinner, though! After we walked back to the dorms, the roomie, Victoria, and our friend Alex picked me up and we headed to Wally World for some shenanigans. We bought some necessities and found something else too....

HAIR DYE!!! Yes, the roomie wanted me to dye her hair! I had never done it before, so I was kind of nervous. But it looked beautiful!! I sadly don't have an after picture of her hair, but it's light brown/dark blondish with red tints throughout. We were both very relieved that it turned out to be a success! I looked so professional while dying it...

What a pro
Tuesday's fesitivities had worn me out! So I packed up everything for classes the next day and called it a night.

WEDNESDAY
First day of class!!!! But my classes were surprisingly pretty uneventful. On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, I have communication studies, which is like a speech class, and Spanish. Communication studies will be such a fun class...I'm already excited for it! And Spanish is alright. I don't have the same fantastic teacher as I did last semester, but I'll get through it. After Spanish, I headed back to the dorm for some down time, and had lunch with the roomie, the boyfran, and two of my other friends I hadn't seen over break. It was so great seeing them again, and we decided lunch will become a Monday Wednesday Friday tradition.

Wednesday afternoon consisted of checking a few random school-related items off the to-do list, lounging around, and going for one huge fail of a run with the boyfran. It looked like it might rain outside, but Toddly and I decided we should go for it anyway. We ran for about 15 minutes in just a light drizzle before it started to hardcore storm. Since we were on the other side of campus, we practically sprinted back to the dorms. By this time it was beginning to hail, and I was freezing. We powered through the storm, though, because we're awesome.

I attempted to dry out for a while before going on a sushi date with my big sister in my sorority. But first, we had to go on a mission to get her a Patagonia jacket. It was quite a dilemna picking one, but I helped her decide :) We went to an amazing sushi restaurant after called Nama and gorged ourselves with delicious sushi. I had the pizza roll, which I always get. I wish I took a picture!! But sadly you will just have to imagine the amazingness. Mmmm sushi. Wednesday night concluded with a gym sesh with the roomie from 8:45 to around 10:15. I ellipticalled for 45 minutes and ran two miles. Bedtime couldn't come soon enough!

THURSDAY
Classes again...bleh. Actually, I was excited to go to these new classes. But first was a quick trip to the gym! I knew I would be running with the boyfran later, so I decided to just do 45 minutes on the elliptical. Then I hurried back to my room to shower and get my hiney to class. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, I have math, anthropology, and economics. These are all lecture style classes (and are also longer than MWF classes) so my day seemed much longer than Wednesday's classes. These classes were definitely not the most exciting classes I have ever taken, but they're not too bad. They just seemed to dragggg on forever. I endured, though! And rewarded myself with a little something after!
Purty!
Patagonia!!! I have a white one, but I had been wanting another color. And when I went to pick out one for my big sister, we saw that they were on sale for 30% off!!! I couldn't resist! Plus, this one was a kid's extra large, so it was even cheaper. That's what we call a smart shopper friends :) I'm in love with this already.

I made it back from my little shopping excursion just in time to make the Killer Core class at the gym with my roomie. The class is only 30 minutes, but it just focuses on abs. I thought it was hard, but not as bad as I was expecting. I'll probably just use the moves I learned from the class and do them on my own in the future. Since the class was only 30 minutes, the boyfran met me and the gym and we ran on the indoor track. And what a heck of a run it was! We started with a mile warm-up, and then Toddles suggested we do a little running workout, like back in our old cross country days. I reluctantly agreed and we started the funsie. We alternated one lap sprinting, one lap jogging for 14 laps (which was 2 miles). I thought I was going to throw up towards the end! I forgot how hard running workouts were!

After that amazing time running, I headed back to the room to cool down and eventually went to dinner with the roomie and the boyfran. All I wanted was a big bowl of cereal, and that's what I had :) Sometimes you just have to listen to your body, people. After din din, I tried to help the boyfran decide what class he wanted to add to his schedule, since he had to drop a different one. We finally got his life all figured out, and I even got a little homework done! All too soon, it was midnight. Bedtime for this tired gal!
