Shenanigans x3

Why hello there! Was today splendid for you? I sure hope so! Today was busy, busy, busy for me. I went to bed last night, thinking it was nice that I had no obligations today. But then I remembered how I still needed to get my best friend another part of her Christmas present (I know, I'm a little late with that but she forgives me!), use my Bed Bath and Beyond gift card, and browse Goodwill to see if they had anything I wanted (and, yes, I do shop at Goodwill sometimes!!). All before I went to dinner with my girlies at 7. Eeeek. So much for having nothing to do! But before we dive into today's festivities, how 'bout a little recap of last night?

The boyfran and I met for the ever-classic "dinner and a movie" date last night. We met at Newk's for dinner a little before 7. The boyfran was a Newk's virgin, but I quickly changed that! ;) Toddles got some sort of chicken sandwich thing, and I got half of a Caesar salad. Why only half you may ask? So I can fill the rest of it with delicious croutons!! Newk's has this incredible little salad topper area with the most ah-mazing croutons. I wish I had taken a picture! Toddstein and I could not stop eating the croutons. I pretty much had a loaf of bread with a smidge of lettuce for dinner :)

We took our time chatting it up at Newk's before realizing we had about two hours to kill before the movie. So what were two bored lovers to do? Go to Target of course! I had to get my best friend a Christmas present, so it seemed like the perfect time-killer. Plus, who doesn't love walking aimlessly around Target?? There's always something to find! We spent a good chunk of time goofing off in Target, but I did in fact end up with some goodies.

Target got the best of me!

Target had soooo many cute things in the dollar section...how could I resist?? Ok let's go over the above picture. From back to front: blue tote bag (for the bestie), blue whale mug (bestie's), bowls, spoon and fork, and cupcake rug. You can't tel from this picture, but both the bowl and the spoon and fork have cupcakes on them!! Apparently I was in a very cupcakey mood last night. And I absolutely love love LOVE this rug! I needed something to go under my desk at school and this was perfect! And it was only a DOLLAR!! Double win. And let's take a closer look at the mug shall we?

ADORABLE!!!

How cute is that little guy?? I cannot wait to give this to my bestie! Not gonna lie, it took a lot of strength to not keep this for myself. I sort of have an obsession with mugs....especially cute ones! I may go back and buy one for myself...

After the Target shenanigans, we decided we had not had our fill of shenanigans and needed to go to Kroger to have more shenanigans (how many times can I use shenanigans in one sentence?). The Kroger also ensued more goofing around. However, this time it was documented!

Huge wheels of cheese

Mesmerized by the apple juice

We found strange orange cheese, huge wheels of cheese, bread galore, a chocolate fountain, and many other things to keep us entertained. I bought some tea while we were here, but I forgot to take a picture :( So here's this instead!
So.Much.Tea!!
By this time, it was time for the movie. We skedaddled to the theater where we saw The Adventures of Tin Tin. It was a lot better than I expected! After the movie, I blog stalked a little more and then passed out in my bed.

I woke up at 10am this morning and began my usual routine. Gym (45 minutes elliptical, 30 minutes run, 30 minutes incline walk, weights, biking to stretch out), shower, lunch. Ok, I have got to share my lunch with you all! I was in the mood for something hot and it was freezing out, so soup was in order! I found a can of Progresso Light Italian Style Vegetable soup.

Nom!!
Ohmiword. It was sooooo delicious! Usually vegetable soups are kind of thin, watery, and only have tiny bites of veggies. But this soup was packed with yummy veggies like green beans, huge chunks of carrots, tomatoes, celery, pasta, and CHICKPEAS!! Chickpeas, people!! Name another canned soup that has chickpeas! I was beyond excited obviously. And here's my proof:
CHICKPEA!

I also had a delicious side of toast with a hummus/Laughing Cow wedge mixture spread on it. This was my first time trying the sundried tomato Laughing Cow wedges and it was so yummy! I could not get enough of this:
Mmm mmm good
As you can tell, I thoroughly enjoyed my lunch today. I didn't want it to end! After lunch, I makeuped and got ready to run some errands. I hit up Kroger, Bed Bath and Beyond, and Goodwill. I have giftcards that needed to be spent and things that needed to be purchased! Ok, so I totally didn't need to buy anything, but I did anyway because I'm a shopping addict. Here's the stash:

I got that wacky little canvas at Kroger for part of my bestie's Christmas present. Haha it's so weird, but so perfect for her! The striped thing is a laptop pad from Bed Bath and Beyond to go on my desk back at school. The flowered Tervis is also from Bed Bath and Beyond. I reallly don't need another mug/tumbler but hey...I had a giftcard!

I spent a solid hour at Goodwill searching through the millions of racks. Now, I know Goodwill gets a bad rap from a lot of people (dirty clothes, don't know where they came from, etc.), but I am a Goodwill advocate! Yes, I admit there are some questionable items at Goodwill, but if you look hard enough you can find great pieces for dirt cheap! Hence the reason I went today:

Vest: $0.50!!
White button down: $5.00
Orange and white checkered button down: $6.00
Oversized blue button down: $0.50!!!
I may have gone a little button down crazy. But they were so cheap I could not ignore the temptation! See? Goodwill's not so bad after all!

After my success at Goodwill, I came home to quickly get ready for dinner with my girlies. I threw on some real clothes, fixed the makeup, and headed out the door. Not before snapping a picture, though!

Sportin' the new Goodwill ves
I had a great time at dinner catching up with my bestie, Casey, and my roomie, Kellie. We had fun munching our salads while reminiscing about New Year's Eve, talking about movies, and laughing at randomness.

Today was a busy, but fun day. Now it's time to pack for my snowboarding trip tomorrow! The lovely ladies you see above (plus Jean!) are all leaving tomorrow afternoon to go snowboarding in West Virginia! I am very much looking forward to snowboarding again, since I just learned how to last year. I've gotta test out my skills! Welp, adios amigos!
